Trial Shots

I have created some shots of my video through paint so that I can see the effect that it will have when done on paint. I will upload them on here and then discuss whether I like the effect it will create or not.

I like the overall effect that these shots have and I think they will look good when I make them into a video. The limited colour supply aids to the cartoon look that I am going for, making the video look more retro.

Colour Scheme Thoughts

As I saw in the comments, my audience like the simplicity of the back and white colour scheme, but they also like the idea of some colour within the products. To accomadate these ideas I think I will firstly try and keep the colour to a minimum, having the majority of the colour in my video, and seeing if feedback thinks I should add any colour in at firther stages.

Colour Scheme Feedback

Alex: I like the colour scheme with multiple colours in it, however I understand why you would like the simplicity of the black and white scheme, I just think brighter colours are more attractive.

Ashleigh: My favourite colour scheme is the pink, blue, green and black one, however I don't think the pink and green go together well, which could be distracting on a product.

Amy: I like the yellow colour scheme most, because its simple but it has a bright colour in it, but If the background is light the yellow might get lost in it.

Sarah: I like the red colour scheme best because the colours appeal to me the most.

Perry: I agree with Alex that the blue, pink and green colour scheme is the most appealing, however I like the simplicity of the black and white colour schemes because it ties into your animation.

Here are the colour schemes that I have created, continuing with the simplicity colour theme. I will ask people to vote for which one they think is best.

Colour Scheme

I need to decide on a colour scheme for my poster and album cover, that fits in with the theme of my video. My first thoughts on this are that I should have an ongoing "cartoon" theme, which could be using very basic colours, such as black, white and primary colours. I will create samples of various colour schemes and then ask an audience to vote for their favourite, so I can take their ideas into consideration.

Final Font

Due to my audience's voting and my personal choice I have decided to use Doodle Pen Limited as the font for my products. I think that this will work well because it suits the theme of my video and it suits my target audience and is 'cartoony' without being too childish.

Font Options

All of my font ideas are done in the 'cartoon' style like i first planned, so that they would match my video. I have chosen 5 different possible fonts and I am going to ask my audience which one they prefer, before coming to a final decision.

5 people liked "pointy" the most. the general feedback from it was that it was a fun font, with the majority of the voters liking the square shape with its shading.

6 people liked "doodle pen limited" the most. They thought that the free hand style of the font would fit in with my product theme and that the messy lines looked good.

Only 2 people liked "love ya like a sister" most,. They liked the styling of the letters and how they are a bit random, however, other people have said that the style of the font seems too formal for my products.

Nobody liked "hirn bold" the most. My audience said that this font was too bold for my products, as they imagined my text to be more delicate.

3 people liked "hand of sean" the most, they said that the free hand style of the font would look good with my cartoon theme, and that it was informal enough for my target audience.
