Double Vision - 3OH!3

How is the band represented?

The band isn't present for the majority of the video, as it is focused on a fake web page. However they appear at certain intervals, all in the same type of long shot, the first being at the start of the video, where they are shown in the middle of a line of girls. Their position could represent power, as the girls are all looking towards them, standing in flirtatious positions, whereas the two boys are shown in a relaxed stance. One band member is shown after this in different fake scenarios, one being on a lilo with two other girls and another where he is crowd surfing, again showing power, as he is above everybody else. The other band member is shown shortly after where he is performing on a stage for a large crowd, this again could show power as he is the one that everyone is focused on. The band members are constantly shown amongst women, showing sexuality and popularity. The video is based around this fake website, which continuously pans down from one video to another, which could suggest that the band is constantly going from idea to idea, never staying on one single event but enjoying many in a short space of time.

What relationship exists between the images and the lyrics in the video?

The images often match the lyrics of the video, an example of this is when the lyrics go "'Cause there's so many fine woman that my head is spinning" a band member is shown on a lilo in a pool with two women, who are dressed in bikinis. He is in the centre of them while they are running their arms up and down him in a flirtatious way, showing his dominance. Shortly after this, the lyrics "I'm seeing double vision" are said, and two pictures of different women are shown sunbathing, and their front and back is shown, linking to the "double vision".

What relationship exists between the music and the images in the video?

At the start of the video, the screen doesn't start scrolling until the music picks up into a rhythm, this scrolling then continues until the end of the song. The chorus then starts when you see one of the band members and his mini video starts, also, the girls with him on the lilo react to the music by punching the air everything the word "hey" is said, this theme continues throughout. The different singers are shown separately as their voices are heard in the song.

Are there any inter-textual references in the video?

The whole video is based around a fake website which is being viewed. It is made up of different videos that are played in time with the music, one of these is a video of the two girls below, who go through the lyrics which are written on their bodies. This is a link to the two girls who have used this method in a music video before.
